Peço desculpa.... estava com a cabeça no The Wall e escrevi Dark Side of the Moon. Estava realmente a pensar que, se bem me lembro, todo o álbum (The Wall, entenda-se) teve o dedo do Roger Waters... acho mesmo que aquilo é a sua "ópera pessoal".. Estou errado? É que todo o álbum fala de experiências de uma vida... sobre emoções tão diferentes e, ao mesmo tempo, tão similares pela intensidade demonstrada quer pelas letras, quer pela instrumentalização.

Mais uma vez peço desculpa por, por lapso, ter levado a conversa para outro lado.

É, também tava a ver que havia qualquer coisa que não tava certa. Até porque o The Wall e o Final Cut são uma espécia de autobiografia do Roger. Acho que perdeu o pai na 2ª Guerra Mundial e isso marcou bastante a sua infância, refletindo-se nestes dois albuns.

O resto da obra tem deles todos um pouco.

Bom, RiK... alguém já disse parte do que te estava a dizer quando a minha net estoirou, hoje à hora do almoço :P

Contudo... insisto contigo, sei que não é bem o teu estilo de música, mas não gostas porque ainda não ouviste... ;)

E, por acaso, não estranhei falares no Dark Side Of The MooN... pessoalmente é mesmo o meu preferido, o que considero o melhor álbum que fizeram... apesar de ter começado pelo The Wall que foi o que me apanhou a começar a ouvir música por mim...

Aliás, não me perguntem muito o porquê, mas acho que a sequência lógica para se começar a ouvir é essa... The Wall, uma obra prima, mas mais fácil de 'digerir' - o lado comercial a funcionar em grande, sim, depois o Dark Side Of The Moon, a seguir o Wish You Were Here e o Animals... Final Cut, com que encerras a para muitos chamada era Roger e começas pelo princípio, porque ficaste apanhado para o resto da vida :P Vais ouvir o The Piper... passas pelo UmmaGumma (do qual o meu tio floydiano me punha a ouvir a mosca, ainda eu era miúda ;) ) e... quando chegares de novo ao The Wall até já o ouves de outra maneira ;)

A velha questão Roger / Gilmour... pessoalmente não vejo Pink Floyd em nenhum deles, a ambos falta aquela magia do grupo... Aliás, pouco conheço das obras a solo, francamente...

catxaporra, obrigada pela disponibilidade... eu nem sei bem o que tenho :upshy: Entre coisas no PC e fora dele e muitas repetidas p'a não me dar ao trabalho de as passar de um lado para o outro... Mas vou investigar ;)

Off the Wall’ em Portugal - Tributo aos Pink Floyd

Os fãs portugueses dos Pink Floyd vão poder ‘matar saudades’ da sua banda preferida.

‘Off The Wall’ é, acima de tudo, uma mega-produção de encher o olho idealizada por um grupo de músicos britânicos de Yorshire. A intenção suprema é homenagear os Pink Floyd e o seu legado musical.

Em palco, o quinteto formado por Kevin Fitzpatrick (voz, teclados), Stella Fairhead (guitarra, voz), Fluff (guitarra solo, coros),Chris Bold (bateria e percussões), e Paul Barker (viola-baixo) interpreta e passa em revista a carreira dos Pink Floyd, dos tempos de Syd Barret até ao ‘canto do cisne’ em 1994, com ‘Divison Bell’, o último trabalho de originais do grupo.

Para ouvir vão estar temas como ‘Fearless’, ‘Shine On you Crazy Diamond’, ‘Run Like Hell’, ‘What Do You Want From Me’, ‘Arnold Layne’ (da ‘pré-história da banda) e, claro, clássicos intemporais como ‘Time’, ‘Money’, ‘Another Brick in the Wall’, ‘Great Gig in the Sky’ e ‘Confortably Numb’, entre outros.

Quando terminar o post do PULSE, estou a pensar postar alguns RoIOS sem os submeter a poll (de resto, os albuns gastam pouco espaço).

O único senão (ou não) é o facto de quase todos os RoIOS que tenho serem num ficheiro (não há separação entre as músicas) mas de qualquer modo 99% dos RoIOS são concertos ao vivo, pelo que pouca importância terá.

O RELICS

Since Relics is a compilation and not a regular studio album, it tends to be overlooked when thought of as one of Pink Floyd's better releases. It might not be regarded as a classic psychedelic masterpiece in the manner of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and it certainly won't ever achieve the multiple platinum status of Dark Side of the Moon, but it's a pretty good place to start with the band's early catalog. Originally issued in 1971, Relics culls from the band's first five singles (two A-sides and three B-sides, including the non-album pop classics "See Emily Play" and "Arnold Layne") and picks album material that capitalizes on the band's versatility while making it a thoroughly palatable listen. From Piper, you get the goofy childishness of "Bike" and the mesmerizing "Interstellar Overdrive," one of the band's trademark instrumental freak-outs; "The Nile Song," taken from the More soundtrack, is one of the heaviest songs the band recorded. A little bit of everything that made early Pink Floyd can be found here. Without a doubt, the disc is an essential part of the band's discography, not to be disregarded in lieu of its overlap with studio album material.

O EP The First 3 Singles

1967: The First Three Singles compiles exactly what it advertises. While four of the six songs can be found on the far more substantial (and indispensable) Relics compilation and The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, the EP does provide a service by making "Apples and Oranges" and "Candy and a Currant Bun" available to those who didn't purchase the Shine On box set. (The box contained a bonus disc entitled "The Early Singles," which essentially functions as a hybrid of this EP and Relics without including everything offered by both.) The big question is why this particular disc doesn't bother to include the fourth and fifth singles, released a year later. After all, it would have made for a more serviceable release, making "Point Me at the Sky" and "It Would Be So Nice" available to non-Shine On owners. Not only that, but after 1968 the band didn't release another single for an entire decade. Outside of the nit picking, "Apples and Oranges" and "Candy and a Currant Bun" are worth the budget price for those who love the Syd Barrett era of the band, just as loopy and melodic as anything on Piper. The chipper "Candy and a Currant Bun," the B-side to "Arnold Layne," was originally titled "Let's Roll Another One" until the BBC made it clear that they wouldn't play a song with that title. A song about dope smoking, the band opted to make the title relatively innocuous. "Apples and Oranges" was the third A-side (following the great success of "See Emily Play"), viewed accurately by the band to be a fine song marred by bad production.

Acho que o catxaporra podia postar o Relics (o meu é a 128k) e não tenho o Shine On Box Set - lamento mesmo muito, pois gostava de o ter.

Parecido, tenho um Box Set muito interessante e algo raro @160k que se chama Total Eclipse - A Retrospective 1967-1993 composto de 4 CDs (outro site alternativo). Curiosamente a versão que tenho tem 5 CDs e no RoIO fala que estavam programados os 5 (não sei como arranjei os 5, mas vieram juntos). Já vasculhei tudo à procura de mais informações, mas do 5º CD, apesar de excelente, não encontro nada a não ser que estava programado ser gravado; concluo que, de certo modo, complementa os restantes trabalhos do grupo até à actualidade...

Vou prepará-los para postar e depois digam qualquer coisa.

Estou a adorar a onda floydiana no forum (que subtilmente ajudei a despertar) e tenho imenso prazer em partilhar tudo quanto lhes diga respeito - façam todos o mesmo :clap:
