A Agência Europeia de Medicamentos (EMA) decidiu esta terça-feira que uma terceira dose da vacina anticovid-19 da BioNTech/Pfizer e da Moderna só deverá ser administrada na União Europeia (UE) a pessoas com "sistemas imunitários gravemente enfraquecidos", após 28 dias.

As for the Israel medical records study, Topol and others point out several limitations, such as the inherent weakness of a retrospective analysis compared with a prospective study that regularly tests all participants as it tracks new infections, symptomatic infections, hospitalizations, and deaths going forward in time. “It will be important to see these findings replicated or refuted,” says Natalie Dean, a biostatistician at Emory University.

She adds: “The biggest limitation in the study is that testing [for SARS-CoV-2 infection] is still a voluntary thing—it’s not part of the study design.” That means, she says, that comparisons could be confounded if, for example, previously infected people who developed mild symptoms were less likely to get tested than vaccinated people, perhaps because they think they are immune.

Pela 2ª vez esta semana os números estão a subir, começa o efeito da abertura... veremos como vai ser a próxima semana. Acho que 6 meses após a 2ª toma é um prazo muito largo, principalmente porque vai deixar muita gente de 70 ou mais anos com imunidade baixa no inverno.

A minha irmã diz-me que vamos precisar de vacinas de 2a geração pois estas não estão a fornecer os níveis de imunidade necessários.

A minha irmã não é especialista em virulogia, é médica de família.

Acredito no que diz, acho que já se começa a ter essa noção

Se os vírus evoluem... é natural que usando os mesmos métodos, as vacinas acabem por perder capacidade. 

Contudo, eu aposto que todas as farmacêuticas continuam a desenvolver já as futuras doses e estão é a aproveitar para escoar ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$) o produto que tem em stock. 

 

Este vírus foi qualquer coisa para as farmacêuticas... É é vai continuar a ser uma bela têta!
