Tweaked Trojan Disables Automatic Updating of OS X Anti-Malware Tools Last month, we noted as part of a report on an update to the anti-malware tools in OS X that a new trojan horse threat known as Flashback.A had surfaced, with the malware masquerading as a Flash Player installer. While Apple has continued to update its XProtect.plist to detect Flashback.A, security firm F-Secure now reports (via ZDNet) that a revised version of the trojan which disables the auto-updating feature of Apple's anti-malware tools has appeared. There's something new brewing in Mac malware development (again). Recent analysis has revealed to us that Trojan-Downloader:OSX/Flashback.C disables the automatic updater component of XProtect, Apple's built-in OS X anti-malware application. The report walks through how the modified trojan overwrites XProtectUpdater files, preventing infected systems from performing their daily check for updated malware definitions and thus keeping the door open for future attacks. The Flashback.C trojan is capable of connecting to a remote host in order to download and execute further code, but it is unclear what the exploit is being used for at this time. Users are of course advised to download Flash Player and other software from trusted sources so as to avoid infecting their systems with trojans such as Flashback.C. With supplies only becoming more constrained, and with shipments already touching down in select countries, we think a launch next week is likely (between Tuesday and Thursday). That is, of course, if there are no unforeseen circumstances. The new machines are said to stay at the exact same prices as current MacBook Pro models. Word of possible new MacBook Pros in late 2011 was first reported back in September. At the time, it was believed that the new MacBook Pros would take advantage of new Sandy Bridge processors released by Intel late this year. Based on thepart numbers, the new machines are expected to be only a minor update. The newly released processors from Intel include Quad Core i7 processors with speeds of 2.4GHz, 2.5GHz and 2.7GHz, as well as a Dual Core i7 at 2.8GHz models. Here's the list of new mobile CPUs adapted from CPU World: Given the heat constraints of the MacBook Pro design, Apple will be unable to use the 2.7GHz Quad Core (Core i7-2960XM) in their notebooks. Apple also won't use the mobile Celeron listed at the end. The top 3 listed, however, remain candidates for upgrades in the new MacBook Pros. Por outro lado é incrível o tipo de negócio que a Apple montou, acho que revela extrema inteligência, visão e estratégia de mercado. É o maior caso de sucesso do mundo em termos de negócio e é por isto que adoro esta empresa! O equipamento, que permite ter acesso à Apple TV, está disponível por 119 euros na loja online.Com este novo dispositivo pode alugar filmes HD, reproduzir vídeos do YouTube e do Vimeo, ouvir música e ver fotografias a partir do iCloud e fazer a transmissão AirPlay a partir dos dispositivos iOS. Com AirPlay com vídeo em espelho, o que estiver em reprodução no iPad 2 ou iPhone4S pode ser reproduzido sem fios num televisor HD. E as fotografias surgem automaticamente com a partilha de fotografias no iCloud. Para utilizar a Apple TV é necessário um cabo HDMI e televisores de alta definição com HDMI e capacidade para 720p. Com a Apple tv nao é neçessario. Tem mais funções, aluguer de filmes e series, permite ainda streaming de qq conteúdo de qq iTunes da tua rede. Mas como nao permite ligar discos USB, só faz 720p, torna-se limitado, ainda que com jailbreak se possam fazer mais umas coisitas, tipo XBMC.
