Modern Warfare 3

Activision is recruiting an all-star team to make it’s already successful game franchise bigger.

The LA Times is reporting that Activision is enlisting two other game studios to help Infinity Ward on Modern Warfare 3. The two studios: rookie studio Sledgehammer Games and veteran Raven Software. Sledgehammer’s role isn’t being disclosed yet but Raven will be working on the multiplayer.

This is a risky move for Activision since the previous Call of Duty games were worked on completely by one studio and it’s surprising they would want to mess with the formula. Further messing with the house of cards is delaying work on the spinoff CoD game being made by Sledgehammer.

But then again, with Guitar Hero sales crashing and Tony Hawk games flat lining Activision really needs a big seller and wouldn’t want to overflow the Call of Duty boat.

Look for Modern Warfare 3 this November and an announcement sometime between GDC and E3.

Is It Time For Modern Warfare 3 Yet?

Is It Time For Modern Warfare 3 Yet? With glowing green numbers counting down to five days from now and the 2011 Game Developers Conference kicking off on Monday, it looks like we might be getting our first look at the next Modern Warfare on Wednesday morning.

As many of you have noticed (OmegaSpartan noticed first), FindMakarov.com is ticking away like a time bomb set to explode into what will likely be the biggest entertainment launch of the year - it always is.

Modern Warfare 2 players will remember Vladimir Makarov as the man that left them for dead at the end of the No Russian mission, effectively blaming the U.S. for the massacre of countless Russian civilians and ignited the spark of war. We didn't get to kill him in that game. Looks like we'll finally be getting our chance.

While there's no concrete information yet, I'd say we can look forward to Modern Warfare 3 hitting Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this November. Stay tuned to our GDC 2011 coverage next week for the big reveal.

Não adivinhem :-..

Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software-developed game will reportedly feature battles in Manhattan and Dubai.

Rumors of Modern Warfare 3 have been percolating for weeks, and today, they apparently finally boiled over. A report on Kotaku pegs the game as being released on Tuesday, November 8, for undisclosed platforms, though the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 are likely suspects.

Expect Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 8?

According to the gaming blog, the game will begin shortly after Modern Warfare 2 ended, following a surprise attack on the United States by a reinvigorated Russia. The new game will apparently start with the outbreak of World War III, with set-piece battles in such cities as New York, Paris, London, and Dubai.

According to the report, the game's single-player campaign will be divided among several characters, including a British SAS Operative, AC-130 gunship gunner, a tank driver, and a member of the Russian Federal Security Service, known by its acronym of the FSB. It will apparently feature two new members of the US Army's supersecret Delta Force, called "Frost" and "Sandman." Kotaku believes these characters are being prepped as protagonists for future installments in the series.

In terms of multiplayer, the game will apparently have a variety of maps in addition to two Spec Ops modes: Survival and Mission.

Activision directed queries for comment to the Twitter feed of Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling. "A lot of hype & a lot of leaked info on #MW3, some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I'd wait for the real reveal," he said.

According to unconfirmed reports, the game is being codeveloped by Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software, and the "reconstructed" Infinity Ward. Activision's newly constructed studio Beachhead is also working on an online platform for the game, the details of which have yet to be revealed.
