What Would You Like To See In Command & Conquer 4?

Us, we'd like to see more Kane. And more Tim Curry. Still, EA would like to know what all of you would like to see in the next - and possibly final - Command & Conquer game.

To that effect, a survey has been doing the rounds, listing several planned features for the title, and even going so far as to directly reference the name "Command & Conquer 4".

Some of the highlights include:

Command & Conquer 4 allows C&C fans to finally experience the epic conclusion to the 15-year Tiberium saga with innovative RPG-like player progression, persistent in both single player and Multiplayer modes, co-op play, and new stylized, live-action cinematics.

And...

Which of the following features would you like to see in a future version of Command & Conquer?

* Play in the first RTS game with MMORPG like player progression in which you are rewarded every time you play. Every unit you kill in single player, multiplayer, or skirmish gives you experience points that allows you to level up your abilities and unlock new units, powers, and upgrades to your arsenal.

* Play with all new, bigger and badder, units from GDI and Nod, including the Crawler, the first ever mobile base in RTS games

* Play the campaign on your own or tackle it with a friend, as co-operative campaigns return

* Play in epic 5 vs 5 online multiplayer with all new objective-based game modes

* Introducing the first mobile base in RTS games: The Crawler. Focus on the action as the Crawler becomes your all-in-one base, which can be deployed and redeployed anywhere on the battlefield for even more strategic options

* Dive into an all-new story written by a new scriptwriting team and told through trademark C&C cinematics taken to the next level with grittier, stylized FMVs in the vein of Minority Report.

* Play in the first ever class-based C&C game - a new challenge for C&C and RTS players to master.

In other words, "did you like what Relic did with Dawn of War II? Because that's what we're looking at here". I'm a little sceptical about some of that other stuff, too, especially the "first ever mobile base in RTS games" bit (it's not) and the " trademark C&C cinematics taken to the next level with grittier, stylized FMVs" bit (no thanks, we like our cornball).

But hey, it's just a survey. Not a press release, not a product announcement. So don't panic just yet.

Did EA Just Announce Command & Conquer 4?

It might not have intended to, but EA's UK public relations team might have just jumped the gun on officially announcing Command & Conquer 4. Funny thing is, that announcement is now nowhere to be seen.

Earlier today, the European PR folks posted on Twitter that "EA LOS ANGELES ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT OF COMMAND & CONQUER 4," linking to an official press release on the matter. One that doesn't yet exist online. Joystiq managed to catch it (and nab a screen shot), probably furthering to ruin some poor PR person's day.

EA's made no secret that a Command & Conquer 4 is in the works, so an announcement—an official announcement that we can officially read on the internet—won't surprise us.

We're sure it's a valuable lesson learned. Don't post it on the internet if you don't want it on the internet, I always say.

olha a EA a tentar fazer concorrencia ao starcraft ^^

por acaso curti o tiberium wars, mto bom fora os bugs principalmente a nivel de network.

Se o c&c4 seguir a linha do tiberium wars e nao a do red alert 3 (que axei alta borrada de jogo sinceramente) venha ele!

Yes, EA Just Announced Command & Conquer 4

In answer to McWhertor's question from yesterday afternoon, yes. EA has just announced Command & Conquer 4, the dramatic conclusion to the Tiberium saga.

The year is 2062, and the world is about to end. In six years, the Tiberium that has been the focus of such contention over the course of the Command & Conquer series will render the Earth uninhabitable. The Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod find themselves with a similar goal - saving mankind from extinction. Then comes perhaps the most chilling sentence in the official press release for fans of the series. "The unthinkable becomes reality and Nod's enigmatic leader Kane takes off for GDI headquarters."

The game, scheduled for release in 2010, features a campaign mode for both sides of the...conflict? New to the series in Command & Conquer 4 is a 5-on-5 objective-based multiplayer mode, requiring players to strategize and cooperate on a level never before seen in the franchise.

Command & Conquer is a powerful franchise with an amazing 15-year legacy. We are thrilled to bring the dramatic Tiberium saga to a conclusion in Command & Conquer 4. This game is designed to give fans all the answers they've been looking for," said Mike Glosecki, Lead Producer of Command & Conquer 4 at EA Los Angeles. "With its objective-based multiplayer mode, persistent player progression and all-in-one mobile base, players will experience Command & Conquer like never before."

I predict GDI and Nod, working together...mass hysteria.

Novas Informações e Imagens de Command & Conquer 4

A última edição da revista de jogos francesa PC Jeux chegou às bancas no passado Sábado, e consigo trouxe novas informações e imagens de Command & Conquer 4, a nova versão do popular RTS que a Electronic Arts anunciou recentemente.

Deixamos de seguida as principais informações reveladas pela revista, e algumas imagens digitalizadas directamente da PC Jeux:

- Kane contacta a GDI depois de perder toda a esperança devido à contaminação de Tiberium, formando a "Tiberium network control", que permite tanto controlar a propagação de Tiberium, bem como torná-lo numa fonte de energia barata, mas, evidentemente, os extremistas de ambos os lados não concordam com a mudança, desencadeando uma nova guerra.

- Os FMV (Full Motion Videos) não vão consistir apenas em actores à frente de um painel azul, haverá muito mais acção.

- O nosso personagem terá um papel importante na história, mas os FMV vão permanecer em 1ª pessoa.

- Um tom mais maduro e rígido.

- O Crawler produz todas as nossas unidades, e é actualizável tal como as unidades padrão também são.

- Os Crawlers perdidos são instantaneamente substituídos, e podemos escolher entre classes ofensivas, defensivas e engenheiros.

- O Tiberium será recolhido por refinarias que nós erguemos em pontos pré-determinados.

- Em todas as partidas em SP ou MP serão recolhidos pontos de experiência para desbloquear novas tecnologias.

Com lançamento agendado para 2010 para PC, Command & Conquer 4 vai revelar a conclusão épica da saga Tiberium.

Espero mesmo que seja uma conclusão épica. Esta saga merece! :god:

Command & Conquer 4 Crawler Moves Out

This Command & Conquer 4 Crawler mobile base was made for walking, and that's just what it'll do. And one of these days this base is gonna walk all over Nod.

The Crawler is the GDI's main unit in the fourth and final installment in the Tiberium Saga, providing all the amenities of a static base, only with legs, making it a viable combat unit as well. It crawls, it walks...the only thing it lacks is a jumping ability, so I can make a really bad base-jumping joke. Oh well, I guess we shall have to do without.

Command & Conquer 4 Gets A Real Name

After introducing the next C&C game with a placeholder numbered title, EA Los Angeles has settled on a name that only slightly evokes thoughts of sparkly vampires: Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight.

EA let the fans choose the name they felt best fit the game, and I'd say the fans made a very wise choice. Twilight fits quite nicely, both as a reference to this being the final chapter in Command & Conquer's Tiberium Saga and in regards to humanity's impending extinction at the onset of the game. Command & Conquer 4 producer Mike Glosecki agrees.

"Our sophisticated fans are a tremendous community with a great love for the series. We really wanted to involve them in Command &Conquer 4 – what better way than to have them create the title? "We were blown away by all the creative names they came up with but the most popular selection, Tiberian Twilight, seemed the best fit, embodying that the saga is coming to a powerful and epic conclusion."

And there you have it. The fans have chosen, and now they wait for Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight's 2010 release. Sure makes for some sexy box art, doesn't it?

A Electronic Arts anunciou hoje que Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight, o novo episódio da sua famosa série de estratégia em tempo real, chega às lojas no dia 16 de Março de 2010.

Command & Conquer 4 vai introduzir uma série de inovações à rápida e fluída jogabilidadede Command & Conquer, mas ao mesmo tempo mantém os principais elementos que prenderam os fãs à série durante todos estes anos. Entre as novidades está a jogabilidade baseada em classes, bases móveis e a progressão persistente do jogador através de todos os modos de jogo, que se traduz numa estratégia inovadora e ainda mais profunda.

A história de Command & Conquer 4 decorre após os eventos de Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. O ano é 2062 e a humanidade está à beira da extinção. Com apenas 6 anos até que a misteriosa estrutura de cristal Tiberium deixe a Terra totalmente inabitável, as duas forças adversárias - Global Defense Initiative (GDI) e Brotherhood of Nod - encontram-se inevitavelmente numa batalha pela mesma causa: evitar que Tiberium extinga a humanidade.

Command & Conquer 4 Beta Coming "Very Soon"

For a game in a series with such a long history, and such a passionate fanbase, Command & Conquer 4 has been humming along under most people's radars. Something that should change pretty soon once the beta kicks off.

C&C4's community manager has posted on his Twitter account "C&C 4 beta will be going PUBLIC very soon, every RTS fan in the world can give CNC 4 MP a test-drive".

With the game due out in March, "very soon" really does mean "very soon". Good to hear it's a public beta, too, so everyone (not just those pre-ordering the game) can get in on the action.
