DeathShadow Posted June 7, 2008 Share Posted June 7, 2008 The production notes for the recent horror films Shutter and The Strangers both reveal that America's Vertigo Entertainment is developing a remake of the Death Note franchise and has hired Vlas and Charles Parlapanides to write the screenplay. In Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's hit Death Note manga, a teenager finds a notebook with which he can put people to death by writing their names. He begins a self-anointed crusade against the criminals of the world, and a cat-and-mouse game begins with the authorities and one idiosyncratic genius detective. Vertigo Entertainment (no relation to DC Comics' Vertigo imprint or the United Kingdom's Vertigo Films) has developed or is developing remakes of Ju-on (The Grudge), Dark Water, Infernal Affairs (The Departed), Gin gwai (The Eye), Shutter, My Sassy Girl, Jungdok (Possession), and Janghwa, Hongryeon (The Uninvited). The Parlapanides brothers are writers and executive producers of Undercover, an update of the 21 Jump Street television series which is under development for the CW network. The Death Note manga has already been adapted into two Japanese live-action films with one spinoff film, an animated television series, assorted television specials, and novels. Viz Media is releasing the manga, the anime series, and a novel, while Viz Pictures released the first Japanese live-action film in theaters in May. fonte Ora, é mais um. Mini0n Posted January 14, 2011 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Shane Black leva 'Death Note' ao cinema Shane Black, cujos créditos incluem “Lethal Weapon” (Arma Mortífera), “The Last Boy Scout”( A Fuga do Último Escuteiro”) e o mais recente “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”, parece ser o realizador escolhido para levar ao cinema "Death Note", uma manga japonesa que já tem uma versão televisiva e que foi adaptada ao cinema em live-action pelos nipónicos. Escrita por Tsugumi Ohba e ilustrada por Takeshi Obata, "Death Note" foca a sua história num estudante que encontra um estranho caderno no chão, com o título de Death Note. No início, ele imagina que tudo não passa de uma brincadeira de mau gosto, mas após testá-lo, apercebe-se que basta escrever o nome das pessoas e visualiza-las na mente para as matar. É assim que ele parte numa espécie de punição divina, assassinando criminosos . Com o argumento de Anthony Bagarozzi e Charles Mondry, responsáveis por “Doc Savage”, que Black também irá realizar. De Death Note só tem o nome, os nomes das personagens e a mecânica do livro (e mesmo nisso inventaram regras), tudo o resto é diferente. Transformaram isto num drama juvenil à americana sem necessidade nenhuma. E se ainda desculpasse a maneira como o L foi caracterizado, o Light é completamente patético e um tiro 300 km ao lado. Única nota positiva que consigo tirar do filme ainda foi o Ryuk que apesar do muito mau CGI e de ter motivações e personalidade diferentes do original, a voz do Willem Dafoe estava no ponto.
